Why it feels different
Cash gifts are now common at Australian weddings, but a bank account number in an invitation can still feel awkward. PickWed gives guests a warm, beautiful wishing-well page, offers secure ways to contribute, and quietly keeps the ledger so your thank-you cards write themselves.
Inside Wishing Well
Open it for five minutes and know exactly what to do next. PickWed keeps the detail out of your head and in the right place.
Share a warm message and an optional savings goal, then let guests choose the contribution method that suits them.
Guests contribute by card through a secure payment provider; funds route to your own account. No cash envelopes to shepherd home at midnight.
Every contribution logs who, how much and their message, then tracks which thank-you cards you've sent.
How it works
A gentle three-step flow gets the tool working for your wedding and keeps it useful as plans change.
Add PayID or bank-transfer details and optionally connect secure card payments.
On your wedding website, invitations or by text. Guests give in under a minute.
Messages and amounts sit in one list, with thank-you status per guest.
The connected advantage
Your wishing well lives on your PickWed wedding website, shares its guest list for thank-you tracking, and its total can feed your budget as 'contributions received'.
Good to know
No fine print, no planning jargon. Here are the things Australian couples ask us most.
Not anymore. Wishing wells are standard at Australian weddings, and most guests prefer them to guessing at homewares. Framing contributions around a goal ("help us get to Italy") keeps it warm.
By card on a secure payment page, or by the PayID and bank-transfer options you choose to show. Guests don't need a PickWed account.
Creating a wishing well is free. Guests who give by card pay exactly the amount they choose; a 2.9% PickWed service fee, which covers card processing, is deducted before the gift reaches you. Bank-transfer and PayID gifts carry no fee.
Card gifts collect in your kumbara (your own Stripe balance) and go to your bank in one transfer a few days after the wedding. You can switch to weekly or withdraw whenever you like. Stripe holds money for up to 90 days, so gifts that would wait longer are sent to your bank automatically before then. Bank-transfer and PayID gifts go straight to your account.
