Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective from 1 October 2026
The short version. PickWed helps couples find wedding vendors and gives both sides tools to plan and run a wedding. We are not a party to the booking between a couple and a vendor. PickWed is in early access, so features will change. Australian Consumer Law rights you have are never taken away by these terms. The full terms below are what apply.
1. About these terms
PickWed is a business name of Celal Yucel Tombul, a sole trader based in Melbourne, Victoria (ABN 68 389 107 731). In these terms "PickWed", "we", "us" and "our" mean that business, and "you" means the person or business using PickWed.
These terms are an agreement between you and us. You accept them when you create an account, tick the box that asks you to accept them, or use PickWed. If you do not agree, please do not use PickWed.
If you use PickWed for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business, and the business is bound by them.
These terms are in five parts:
- Part A applies to everyone.
- Part B applies to couples.
- Part C applies to vendors.
- Part D applies where money is paid through PickWed.
- Part E contains general terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of how we deliver the service.
Part A — Everyone
2. Early access
PickWed is in early access (beta). That means:
- features may change, be limited, be renamed or be withdrawn;
- the service may occasionally be unavailable or have errors; and
- some features described on our site are marked "coming soon" or are only available to some users.
We will give you reasonable notice before we withdraw a feature you actively use, and you can export your data at any time from your account settings. During early access, PickWed is free for couples and free for vendors on the Free plan. You only pay if you choose a paid plan or a paid feature, and the price is always shown before you pay.
3. What PickWed is, and what it is not
PickWed is a platform for discovering, comparing and working with wedding vendors. It includes a vendor directory, a matching questionnaire, planning tools for couples, and business tools for vendors.
We are not a party to any agreement between a couple and a vendor. When a couple books a vendor, the contract is between them. We are not the agent of either side. We do not provide wedding services, and we do not employ, supervise, endorse or guarantee any vendor.
We do not check a vendor's licences, insurance, qualifications or the quality of their work. Where a profile shows a verification badge (for example, an ABN check), it only means that the specific thing named was checked at the time shown.
How matching works
Vendor recommendations are calculated by our own scoring rules from the preferences you give us, such as your date, location, budget, style and the categories you need. An AI model does not decide who you are matched with. Vendors cannot pay to improve their position in ordinary match results.
Featured placements
Some results are Featured. A Featured placement comes only with our paid Pro vendor plan; we do not give it away or place anyone there by hand. Featured results are always labelled "Featured", are only shown when the vendor is still a reasonable match for your brief, and are shown alongside, not instead of, your ordinary results.
A vendor connected to PickWed
PickWed's operator also owns Jay Chubby Wedding, a photography and videography business listed on PickWed. It is listed and matched under the same rules as every other vendor, pays for any paid plan at the same price as everyone else, and gets no manual help with its position. If it appears in a Featured slot, that is because it holds a Pro plan, and it is labelled "Featured" like any other vendor.
4. Vendor listings
Our directory has two kinds of profile:
- Claimed profiles are managed by the business itself.
- Unclaimed profiles were compiled by us from publicly available information, mainly the business's own website and public social media, and are marked as unclaimed.
Information in an unclaimed profile, including any description written with the help of automated tools, may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It is not a statement by the business, and it is not a promise by us about that business.
If you own a listed business, you can claim your profile to control it, or ask us to remove it. If you see something wrong in any profile, tell us at support@pickwed.com.au.
5. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- The details you give us must be accurate, and you must keep them up to date.
- Couples must verify their email address before using the dashboard.
- Keep your password secure and do not share your login. If you think someone else has used your account, change your password and tell us straight away.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, unless it happened because we failed to take reasonable care.
- Do not create an account for someone else, or for a business you are not authorised to represent.
6. Acceptable use
When using PickWed you must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- post anything false, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or threatening;
- upload content you do not have the right to use, including other people's photos;
- harass, abuse or spam other users, or send enquiries you do not genuinely intend;
- try to find out a couple's identity or contact details before the platform shares them;
- use contact details you obtained through PickWed for anything other than the enquiry or booking they relate to;
- impersonate a person or business, or misrepresent your connection with one;
- scrape, copy or bulk-download the directory or other users' content, or use automated tools to access PickWed other than our published features;
- probe, test or bypass our security, rate limits or access controls, or interfere with the service; or
- upload malware, or reverse engineer the platform except to the extent the law allows.
We may remove content or restrict an account that breaks these rules (see section 19).
7. Messages, enquiries and email
Messages, enquiries, quotes and files you exchange through PickWed are stored so both sides can see the history. We do not routinely read your messages. We may access them when you ask us for help, to investigate a report of abuse, fraud or a breach of these terms, to keep the platform secure, or when the law requires it. Staff access to your records is limited to what the task needs and is logged.
We send service emails about your account and activity, such as enquiries, quotes, reminders and security notices. These are part of the service. We only send marketing emails if you agree to receive them, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can change your notification preferences in your settings.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload or write on PickWed ("your content").
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example, resize or crop), display and share your content as needed to run and improve PickWed and to show it to the people you share it with. For vendors, this includes showing your profile, gallery and packages to couples and in search results, and featuring your public profile content when we promote PickWed, with your business name attached. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared with another user (for example, a quote a couple has received), copies we must keep by law, and backups that expire on their normal schedule.
You promise that you have the right to upload your content, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. Photographers and other vendors should note that this includes permission to show images of past clients.
If you believe content on PickWed infringes your rights, email support@pickwed.com.au with the details and we will act promptly.
The PickWed platform itself — its software, design, brand and the compilation of the directory — belongs to us. You may not copy or reuse it except as these terms allow.
9. AI-assisted features
Some features use artificial intelligence, including:
- Woi, our planning assistant, which answers questions using your own planning data;
- help with drafting text, such as a vendor bio or a message;
- summaries and style tags generated from a vendor's public material or photos; and
- reading the free-text answers in a couple's brief to fill in the questionnaire.
AI output can be wrong. Check anything it produces before you rely on it or send it to someone. It is not legal, financial, medical or professional advice. AI never decides your matches (see section 3). Vendors can turn photo analysis off in their privacy settings. Our Privacy Policy lists the AI providers we use and where they are located.
Part B — Couples
10. Planning with PickWed
- Your brief. We use the details of your wedding to recommend vendors and to power your planning tools.
- Enquiries. When you send an enquiry, the vendor sees your brief with your name shortened (for example, "Olivia M."). Your full name and contact details are only shared with that vendor once a quote is exchanged.
- Choosing a vendor. Recommendations are a starting point, not advice. Before you book, check the vendor yourself — reviews, references, licences, insurance and their contract.
- Booking. Your booking is a contract between you and the vendor. Read their terms, especially cancellation, deposits, postponement and refunds. If you sign it on PickWed, it is still their contract.
- Guests. If you add guests, you are responsible for their information. Only add details, especially dietary, health or accessibility notes, that the guest is happy for you to record. Guests who RSVP on your wedding website give their details to you through PickWed.
- Your wedding website. You control what it shows and whether it is public or password-protected. Free web addresses on PickWed are hidden from search engines. You are responsible for the content you publish on it.
11. Custom domains
Where available, you can buy a custom web address for your wedding website. We register it through our registrar partner with you as the registrant, so the domain is yours, subject to the rules of the registrar and the domain registry.
- The price, registration period and what happens at renewal are shown before you pay.
- Once a domain has been registered it cannot be cancelled, so the fee is not refundable, except where the law requires or where we failed to register it.
- If the domain is not renewed, it lapses at the end of its term and may become available to others.
- If you want to move the domain to another provider, contact us and we will help you transfer it.
Part C — Vendors
12. Your obligations as a vendor
- You must be authorised to represent the business you list or claim.
- Keep your profile accurate, including your services, pricing, availability and service areas. Do not claim awards, qualifications, reviews or affiliations you do not have.
- You must hold the licences, registrations and insurance your services require, and follow the laws that apply to your business, including the Australian Consumer Law and privacy law.
- Quotes and prices you give couples are your offers, and you are responsible for them, including whether GST applies.
- You are solely responsible for the services you agree to provide, for your contract with the couple, and for honouring it.
Receiving enquiries
You only receive enquiries once your profile is published and you have accepted the current version of these terms. Everything a vendor needs to respond to a PickWed enquiry — reading the brief, messaging the couple and sending a quote — is available on the Free plan.
Using couples' information
Information you receive about a couple through PickWed may only be used to respond to their enquiry and to deliver the services they engage you for. You must not add them to marketing lists, sell or share their details, or contact them about unrelated matters. Any email you send them yourself must comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Connected accounts
If you connect a calendar, we read only your busy dates and store only the date and an opaque event identifier — never your event titles, guests or notes. If you connect Instagram or Facebook, we read only what the gallery feature needs. You can disconnect at any time.
13. Studio business tools
Studio includes a pipeline, client records, smart files (proposals, contracts and invoices), e-signatures, reminders, automations and a client portal.
Client information you add
You may add information about clients who did not come to you through PickWed. For that information, you are responsible for having the right to collect and use it, and for telling your clients how you handle it. We handle it on your behalf only to provide Studio to you: we keep it secure, do not use it for our own marketing, do not sell it, and delete it when you delete it or close your account. You can export it at any time.
Contracts and e-signatures
Studio lets you send contracts for electronic signature and keeps a signing record (who signed, when and from which device). You are responsible for the content of your contracts and for making sure they suit your business and comply with the law. We do not review contracts and do not guarantee that a particular contract will be enforceable. Any starter template we provide is a starting point only and is not legal advice.
Invoices, reminders and automations
Reminders and automated messages you set up are sent in your business's name. You are responsible for checking that amounts, due dates and messages are correct before you switch them on. Automations only do what you configure them to do.
Client portal
Your clients can view and act on their files through a private portal link. Treat these links as confidential and only send them to the right person.
14. Plans and fees
Free plan
The Free plan includes your listing, matching, enquiries, messaging and quotes. It costs nothing.
Paid plans
Where offered, our paid plans (currently Premium and Pro) are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. The price and what is included are shown before you subscribe. PickWed is not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged. If that changes, we will tell you at least 30 days before GST applies to your next payment.
- Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your billing settings. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, then move to the Free plan. We do not refund part periods, except where the law requires, where we end your plan without cause, or where we remove a paid feature you rely on and do not offer something equivalent.
- Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price increase. It applies from your next renewal after the notice period, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will tell you and try again. If it still fails, we may move your account to the Free plan.
Featured placement
Featured placement comes with the Pro plan. It gives your profile additional, labelled exposure to couples for whom you are still a reasonable match. We do not guarantee any number of impressions, enquiries or bookings. We show you how many couples saw your Featured placement and how many enquiries followed.
Payments you receive
We do not currently take a commission on payments your clients make to you through PickWed. Stripe's processing fees apply. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before introducing any commission.
Part D — Payments
15. Payments through PickWed
Payments on PickWed are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by PickWed.
Stripe accounts
To receive payments, vendors (and couples using the Wishing Well) connect a Stripe account. Payment processing for that account is provided by Stripe and is governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement (stripe.com/au/legal/connect-account). By connecting a Stripe account through PickWed, you agree to those terms as Stripe updates them. You also agree to give us accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorise us to share it, and information about your transactions, with Stripe for the purpose of providing payment services.
Paying a vendor
When a couple pays a vendor's invoice through PickWed, the payment is made to the vendor's own Stripe account. The vendor is the seller. Deposits, cancellations, refunds and disputes are governed by the vendor's contract with the couple, and the vendor is responsible for processing refunds and responding to chargebacks.
16. Wishing Well
Where available, couples can collect monetary gifts from guests through their wedding website.
- The couple must connect their own Stripe account to receive gifts.
- A guest's contribution is charged by PickWed through Stripe and passed to the couple's Stripe account. The guest pays exactly the amount they choose, with nothing added.
- For each card gift, PickWed keeps a service fee (currently 2.9% of the gift) from the amount passed to the couple. It covers card processing and the cost of running the Wishing Well, and is shown to the couple before they switch card gifts on. Gifts by bank transfer or PayID carry no fee.
- A gift is voluntary and, once made, is not refundable, unless it was made in error or without authorisation, or the law requires otherwise. If something has gone wrong with a gift, contact support@pickwed.com.au and we will work with the couple and Stripe to resolve it.
- Gifts are between the guest and the couple. We do not give financial or tax advice about gifts.
17. Chargebacks and fraud
If a payment is disputed or appears fraudulent, Stripe may reverse it. Where a disputed payment relates to your account, you are responsible for the amount and any fee Stripe charges, unless the dispute arose from our error. We may pause payouts or payment features on an account while we investigate suspected fraud.
Part E — General
18. Privacy
We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. Vendors must also handle couples' and clients' information in line with section 12 and section 13.
19. Suspension and termination
You can stop using PickWed and delete your account at any time from your account settings or at pickwed.com.au/account/data-rights. Deleting your account does not cancel contracts you have made with other users.
We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe that the account:
- breaches these terms or the law;
- misrepresents a person or business;
- puts other users, the public or PickWed at risk; or
- has been used for fraud or abuse.
Where it is reasonable and safe to do so, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond. If we close a paid account for reasons that are not your fault, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period. We may also close an account that has been inactive for more than two years, after warning you by email at least 30 days beforehand.
20. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee for services that are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
21. Our liability
Subject to section 20:
- we provide PickWed in early access and do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- we are not responsible for what vendors, couples or guests do or fail to do, including a vendor's services or a couple's payments;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or data, or for indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with PickWed is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and A$100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, or to loss caused by our fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence. Our liability is also reduced to the extent that your own act or omission contributed to the loss.
We remain responsible for running PickWed with reasonable care and skill, including protecting your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
22. Your responsibility for claims
If you use PickWed for a business, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from a claim by someone else that arises from:
- the services you provide to your clients;
- content you upload that you did not have the right to use; or
- your breach of these terms or the law.
This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by us.
23. Complaints and disputes
With another user. If you have a problem with a vendor or a couple, raise it with them first. We can give you copies of records we hold that relate to you, such as messages, quotes and signing records. We are not obliged to mediate and we do not decide who is right.
With us. Email support@pickwed.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot agree, either of us may take the matter further. Nothing here stops you contacting a consumer protection agency such as Consumer Affairs Victoria, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about privacy.
24. Changes to PickWed and these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect new features, changes in the law or advice we receive. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. We keep a record of the version you accepted. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account before it takes effect, and we will refund the unused part of any prepaid plan. Changes that are needed urgently for legal or security reasons may take effect sooner.
25. General
- Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts that hear appeals from them.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to a company or other business that takes over PickWed, including a company we set up to operate it. We will tell you if that happens, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced by the transfer. You may not transfer your account without our agreement.
- Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account. You can send notices to support@pickwed.com.au.
- Severability. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown when you buy a paid plan or feature, are the whole agreement between you and us about PickWed.
